Marie's Danse des Fleurs Art Event

I did IT!!! I flew across the country to beautiful Tampa Florida, to attend Cassandras http://anartfuladventure.typepad.com/an_artful_adventure/, I was so nervous!! I knew these girls from being online, but meeting them in person? would they like me? Would i fit in?, Yep i sure did LOL Omg i found some women who are some of the most talanted sweet,fun, and down to earth people i ever meet!! Honestly this was one of the best weekends of my life!!Most of these fantastic pictures were taken by the SUPER sweet and talanted Tiffany Kirchner Dixon The Fancy Farmgirl.

The first night was vender night, and a meet and greet. The room was decorated so beautifully!! Omg it was a like a dream!! We each had a wonderful box of goodies ,sent to us by Cassies wonderful sponsers!!

I want to give special thanks to my New best friends and roommates Sherry,Becky,and Julie,for making my time so wonderful!!!!!! I also want to thank Tiffany, making me feel apart of the "group"!! I also bonded with Marsha, and Lulu!! u women are fantastic!! I wish i could have spent a bit more time with the other beautiful, talented girls i meet, to get to know you all a bit better!! but hopefully i will get to see you all at future events!!!

New Goodies in in my Shop

OK i may ramble here alot... First I'm pretty excited,,I have a new laptop here... well not new , but new to me... my mom bought herself a brand new laptop and gave me this one!! ( Thank u MOMMY!!) LOL well there is nothing wrong with this one, just a little crack in the shell, well that drove my mom nuts so she had to buy a new one lol. So this will be my first post using a laptop.. weeeeee lol, Second, I ended up having a unexpected week off from work .. ( no i didn't get in trouble lol) just a licence issue, so i decided to try some purging.. i have WAY to much stuff, craft supplies, vintage treasures ,ect..ect..Anyway i added a bunch of stuff to my shop www.etsy.com/shop/stefscottage72.I added these fun Christmas ornaments i made out prisms and some fabulous images i bought from my friend Cassies etsy shop cassiescreations@.etsy.com .

This Pretty ,creamy ,wreath, i added a Huge vintage,Velvet,Rose, and some other vintage trims.

Then For the vintage goodies, I Added 2 lots of vintage Jewels, a vintage pincushion, and a vintage lady head vase.

First off I'm sorry Tabitha it took me so long to post! omg i ended up having bronchitis, iv never had it before and it kicked my butt for weeks. but now I'm feeling better! I want to share with you. What i received from the Sweetest swap partner ever!!! Ms Tabitha from creativewingsboutique.blogspot.com !! Oh my she made me the most fantastic Marie Antoinette Halloween crown!So much wonderful detail!! I'm in love!! Just thought id share some new items i have added to my shop. I'm having such a fun time making these romantic ,cottage, type canvas totes!! (I may Have A NEW ADDICTION HERE LOL). iv seen the beautiful totes all over the Internet, and HAD to dabble in making some myself! I started with a sturdy canvas bag, then tyred my hand stenciling the cool chandelier, on some, and then added some fun ruffles... and OF COURSE. some rosettes!!. On the other one i used a super pretty iron transfer , with a romantic bird cage and sweet birdys on it!! And tones of rosettes!! IT was hard not to keep them but i can make more!! hehehhehe so i added them to my etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/stefscottage72

My first charm bracelet!

I made my first charm bracelet, with a matching gift box. I made it for my sons sweet girlfriend. Her birthday is today, as one of her gifts I decided to bite the bullet and try one.She loves horses, so I went with a horse theme

So i was browsing in my local second hand shop a few weeks ago, and the cover of this vintage record caught my eye! now i usually don't look at records ( who even owns a record player anymore)and then i started looking at the records. I found a stash of Beautiful classical records someone donated. I mean the covers are fantastic!! and it hit me that they would make beautiful wall art!! And of course id have to had my shabby touch to them!!! Now i LOVE classical music!! not sure how i learned to like it ( this chick was raised in a trailer park lol) But something about it moves me and relaxes me! any who, i have finished 2 of the records and added them to my etsy shop. I'm pretty excited how they turned out! Not sure if this is a original idea? But iv never seen them before. soooooo let me know what you think.... i added pics of the records before i go my crafty little hands on them, and 2 finished ones. Press kits for Artistic Affaire Les Sirens event

I am so excited to be a Little part of the event hosted by Kim Caldwell's Artistic Affaire Les Sirenes. Although i cant go (sniff,sniff) i did volunteer to create some press kits!! Sadie from http://www.lollishops.com/ put out a call to her vender's for some Press kits ,for the event. So i decided to try to put some together!! These are the first ones iv ever done.. (hope the girls like them) The theme was "Victorian,beach,mermaid". So i found a few cool pics. and i had some little paper picture frames i got somewhere ( cant remember) and started to create. I did some stamping, some glittering, some gluing , came up with these little goodies... I also made some fun tags.... And then i packed them all up to go... Well i hope they all like them!! i enjoyed making them.. and wish i could be there!!! Tons of HUGGGGGGSSSSSS Stephanie!!

i know its been forever since my last blog! I'm not the most organized person in the world. Well i have 2 boys 17 and 19 my oldest graduated 2 yrs ago and this June my youngest graduated!! yay!! omgosh its been forever since i blogged! well i thought id show you some goodies i found a few weeks ago when i went junkin. I went to one of my fav antique shops. I have not been there forever so i stopped in... oh i found some cool treasures. i Love trays and i found this super cool pink one with flowers and the sweetest bird. I also Love mermaids. My bathroom has vintage mermaids in it and I found this vintage "norcrest" Lovely for $7 bucks (a steal!!) And i couldn't pass up these croquet butterfly's... I'm hoping to use them in some projects.

Then i found this set of Fantastic set of vintage cards!! These will be Gorgeous in some creations too!!

And I also found these vintage cards and die cuts!!! To die for !!! these made me Giddy!!!!

ohhhhh and If u know about my obsession with Marie Antoinette Then u KNOW i snatched this up!!! Soooooooooo super cool vintage powder box!!! isn't she Beautiful!!! I am going to display her with some of my other Marie goodies!!

And now for my fav find!!! this vintage pink box!! So totally shabby perfect!!! wellllll almost.... i found a Beautiful vintage broach that had a few rhinestones missing but still gorgeous.... and decided to add some sparkle and extra prettiness!!

I added some tiny sweet pale pink ribbon roses i had to the missing areas of the broach.... I LOVE how it turned out!! So i hope u enjoyed seeing my new treasures. CRAP!! I gave my self a BOOBOO!!

OK... um ya... Just when u thought crafting was a nice SAFE pastime... something happens... I was involved with a crafting crime... the perpetrator? this pair of deceptive pair of scissors... i know they look all Innocent ....but BEWARE!! You never know when they will unleash their rage!!!

Then they BITE you!! You see i was in state of euphoria... a night off from work... dinner all done ....and a whole, guilt free crafting night ahead of me... then out of nowhere... my had slipped as i was trying to cut a heavy belt off a cute, rhinestone, belt buckle. And BAM!! The evil ,little ,buggers jumped up, and sliced my finger wide open! I cussed some awful profanity and my hubby jumped up to see what was wrong... and grabbed me a dishtowel to stop the gush... then we headed to the E.R... after waiting a while... this pleasant looking lady came in and started out all sweet and nice as she cleans up my gash ... as we were talking pleasantry's.. out of NOWHERE Like David friggin Copperfield she whips out this Really, Long, Needle!!!This Sweet lady was really a sneaky, needle, wielding, MADWOMAN!!! I Panicked ,and Pleaded with her to give me a chance to prepair my self for the torture ....i saw i had no choice but endure!! So i just barley regained my composure when.... with a twinkle in her eye.... she shoved her instrument of torture into my now throbbing finger... it seemed to take forever... and then again she jabs me with the evil little tool.... after what seemed like hrs.... .. finely it was over!! As i started to breath again.. she said... she would have one of her minions come in, and clean, and prepair my wound for repair.... now my finger was blissfully Numb.. and i felt pretty good about my predicament.. thinking "ahhhh it will be over soon" after about 30 Min's later .. a young man came in to attend to my wound ...although mildly irritated about waiting 30 mins for him... he started to charm, and amuse me with funny, Halloween costumes he has worn in the past...he then finished up cleaning and preparing my finger for the next step in my ordeal.... i ... (still numb) was starting to feel better about the situation.... he left..... and i waited... and waited ...and waited... 45 mins later i could start to feel my finger again... screaming and throbbing.... another 20 mins after that the "Needle wielding magician" came back in... i knew what had to be done and my body clenched as i told her that the numbing potion had worn off.... I saw the excitement in her eyes as she went for her torture device... and she again.... impaled me twice more with her weapon!!! she again left the room ... at this point i am wiping the tears of pain from my eyes and thinking of some uncomfortable ailments for the horrid witch... when she came back in to stitch my poor battered finger back together... Finally!! after 6 stitch's my left pointer was back together!!! It was over!! But then i had to wait another 30 mins for my chance to escape!!My savor was a sweet older gentleman came in and gave me my Key to escape!! I hurriedly scratched my given name onto the document, and was Pleased to see,,,, The gentle old man had given me access to a magic pill! i slowly edged my way out of this house of horrors and my wonderful knight in shinning armor ( MY HUBBY) carried me off home in his large, gold ,350, chariot!! after a little bit i was granted reprieve of my pain with a little bit of heaven (pain pill) ..... now i looked at my poor little finger and have decided to name my poor little stem "franken finger." i hope i can get over the trauma i had to endure tonight by sharing my tale of woe with all of u.. while typing with one finger in a state of medicated bliss .. i thank u if u have made it through this crap iv typed... i do feel better though ... but my crafting will be on hold for about a week ... ill just drown my sorrows in some Halloween choc... and hopefully i will be back in action in a while!!! here is a pic of my bandaged

i finished up some new goodies for my etsy shop... first is the little fairy i did.This sweet, altered art, glittery, fairy, was soooooooo fun to make!! I started with a sweet ,image of a vintage, little girl, then digitally colored her frilly, costume with pretty pastels. I added fun, polka dotted, wings that are edged with PINK glitter!! I also added fun embellishments like cupcakes,and a cute, sparkly, ice cream cone. I also added fun, paper flowers that i had glittered, and some sweet little pink roses. This fun whimsical wall hanging is loaded with glitter and i think it warms the heart !!

Next i revamped a previous cake i made...Fun ,whimsical,shabby,cottage,,box! This would be great for Storing special, treasures,or it would make a Fab., Gift box for a extra special gift! This sweet, little, green ,glitter bird is sporting a awesome, gold, and green rhinestone crown! It sits atop tons of silk,paper and rhinestone embellished roses!!

i went junking ( thrift stores,antique shops, estate ,yard sales) earlier this week and here's a pic of my goodies i found... ( pic is not so good sorry) i found the cute little book like brand new or one of my nieces.The supper sweet "lords Prayer " planter... so pretty i have a cute idea for it! the awesome vintage china soup tureen .. it has a crack in it so i cant use it for food... but I'm gonna store some of my vintage jewelry in it! a old hand mirror I'm gonna jazz up with some jewels!! and some cool vintage jewelry!! and the coolest silver clock.... i want to doll it up like the ones seen in romantic homes mag... by Jennifer Hayslip of Sweet Eye Candy Creations, . I think here things are beautiful and they inspire me!!

The Marie- Zine is FINALLY Coming! And not only is it coming, but it is coming THIS MONTH! It is finished and they are now applying the final touches. The Mad Hatter Flea market

I had a Super fun time at this Mad Hatter flea market this weekend!! I saw the flyer in Jo Ann's fabric store a few weeks ago ... and it sounded soooooo cool... and it was!!! they held it in a grange hall... ( i have been to a few of theses grange hall flea markets before). and it was selected vender's... so u didn't have to wade through all the china junk that seems to overflow in other flea markets. My only regret was not bringing my camera!! the little booths were so beautiful.. and i meet some very talented ladies who have blogs ... maybe i can get some pics off of theres ...if they let me... any how these ladies had some really fantastic things!! i saw lots of altered art (my obsession) and cool vintage items and i even found some vintage goodies for creating.

ok so i haven't figured out how to arrange the pics they way i want them... but i will eventually. So the big green thing with a fleur de le is a vintage scrapbook cover.. how cool huh? I'm hoping to find some inserts to fit it and put in my fab atcs i have traded with other artists!! ... i found some big vintage beige velvet roses, and some super cool velvet pansies for some creating fun!! i also found some sweet vintage Venice lace ( about 2 1/2 yards) for like 5 bucks!! and then some super cool vintage bottles, iv been wanting to make some of those pretty bottles iv been seeing around with all the pretty paper and vintage jewels dripping from them... now i have some cool bottles!! so those are the treasures i found there at the mad hatter show.... now I'm going to keep my eye open for other shows similar to those! i had a great time... now I'm off to check out some of the vender's blogs! hopefully i can find some more pics of the booths for you guys!

Omg!! i cant believe my baby boys both started community collage last week..... ohhhhhh where did the time go? i remember when the were little fighting over their yugi o cards lol! i am so proud! Bradley is 19 ,and is now in collage full time.... ( hes still not sure what he wants to do. )that's OK ... as long as hes started! My other son is Kurtis.. he is 17 and taking 2 collage classes in the morning and high school in the afternoon! i love that he has the opportunity to get a jump start on his education! any way if i can keep up the cost of books i think they will do just fine! ok
there i had to brag about my babies for a bit.... they make me so happy!!

here is my new creation... found these awesome locked diary's and decided to pretty them up!! i used some of my fav colors( pastels)... and i have been making myself use my vintage finds... i have such a hard time using my vintage goodies i find... i keep... thinking i don't want to waste it on something that might not turn out good... but I'm changing my evil ways hehehhe it turns out they seem to just finish the creations so nice... an much better than sitting in a box... on the pink one i used some pretty vintage lace and a vintage beaded piece and a vintage rhinestone/ pearl piece... on pink velvet fabric.. on the blue one the big blue rhinestone piece is not vintage but oh so pretty,,, the piece in her hair is though it is one of a pair of earrings... (the other one was missing when i bought it) i also used blue velvet fabric on it. anyway here they are i have put them in my etsy shop.. stefscottage72@etsy.com

Ok this will be one of my first posts!! yay me!! hehehhe Just thought id share one of my fav . pastimes! i belong to a swap group that is all about Marie Antoinette inspired art. i enjoy my self so much creating and viewing all the talented artist that have been hand picked to be members!! We get grouped up and get to trade work that is themed! its so exciting to get another artists creation in the mail!! these people are fantastic artist!! i love getting a new goodie and inspecting it and learning a new technique ,,lol .....The creator of the group is a fantastic artist named Cassandra!! so anyway i thought id share my newest Marie inspired piece! its a Masquerade mask!! omg i had so much fun with this!! i hope my partner likes it too!! ... so i got a pre-made mask ( i know i cheated a little there) .. i covered both sides with fabric...added pretty trim and rhinestones around the eyes and other rhinestone pieces. i also added a dowel i painted and wrapped with pretty velvet ribbon and topped w/ a matching rhinestone piece and ended it with a cool blue tassel.... and the best part are the awesome ostrich . feathers and some other colorful craft feathers!! any way i have had so much fun with this swap .. i have made up a few more i will be adding to my etsy shop in the next few days! stefscottage72.etsy.com and y Lollieshop (cotton candy cottage)... so i hope u can read the jumble lol and i hope i can figure out how to get the pics to load....any way here is my mask...hope u like

Hello! My name is Stephanie.. i am 37. i would like to get this tidbit out of the way first.. I cant spell worth a darn.. my writing skills are awlful. and i tend to ramble all over the place...but if u can get past that.. i love to share things i find and make!I Love creating! i have a passion for making something ugly, into something soft and pretty looking! i love Shabby, cottage, style anything! I love to hit yard sales , thrift shops , and antique stores.... i like to see past something and think to myself .."what can i do to this to make it pretty"...i tend to get a little obbsessive when i make things .. drives my hubby crazy... lol... but when i finish a prodject i feel so giddy lol!My fav color is PINK!!! my whole house is decorated in the soft pretty shabby cottage style look! i LOVE roses... and pretty vintage things! i love things that are time worn.. and have a little wear and tear to them...I fell in love with "altered art" a few yrs ago... i thought it was fantastic... but i didnt care for the dark colors... so i thought to myself ( this would be soo beautiful if it were in pastels!)... and as iv searched the web and bought mags... i see that lots of u out there are the same way!! i have seen so many Gorgeous creations here and all over the place.. that it really inspires me!!ok about me... I have been Married to the best Man in the world for almost 19 yrs!! He puts up with my crazyiness! ( he may be apart of my crazyness though lol) I have 2 sons Brad 18 and Kurt 16... my boys are the best thing i have ever produced! they are sweet and good boys!! and they put up with alot of pink lol!! I know this is gonna be weird... but i have been a black jack dealer for 11 yrs... its a good job... but can make u hate people lol.. thats why i tend to gravetate to my crafts.... they are sweet nice and pretty .. and they dont yell at me for taking there money lol!... i tend to cuss alot... but i will control myself here heheheh... and i love to laugh.. !!i love to be funny and love to be around funny people ( my hubby !)So thats a bit about me .. i hope u got through that awlful spelling.... im am very excited to be here and make new freinds!!!
